Women At Work - The Bundeskanzlerin

At the end of September, we the people, have the honour of voting to determine the future make-up of our next German government. As is the case every four years, our political leaders put their heads together with PR specialists to create advertisement strategies which might best lure the vote out of the voter. As early as the beginning of this new year, I was asked by Ms. Dr. Merkel, if I might consider shooting the pictures for her election campaign. For me a highly fascinating project, to observe and photograph; the worlds most influential woman, the first woman to run the Federal Chancellery, a woman with an East German background, Germany’s most powerful woman, at work. Here you will not only find campaign shots, but other photographs as well. In the context of this project, portraits of Ms. Aigner and Mr. zu Guttenberg were also made.
